Love Dare :: Day #1 :: Love is Patient
Here is away for you to travel with me as I make my way through my journey of the Love Dare. It is a 40 day commitment to realize how to love your spouse, how to make your marriage work, and how to live life and love through the eyes of God. After the 40 days of this journey, and the Marriage Enrichment bible study through Seerly Creek Christian Church, JB and I will be renewing our vows under our renewed faith on April 4th.
Love Works. Love is built on two pillars that best define what it is. Those pillars are patience and kindness. All other characteristics of love are extensions of these two attributes. And that’s where your dare will begin. With Patience. When you are patient you will respond in a positive way to a negative situation. Few of us do patients very well and none of us do it naturally. But wise men and women will pursue it as an essential ingredient to their marriage relationships. (From The Love Dare by Stephen & Alex Kendrick)
Dare Day #1:
Resolve to demonstrate patience and to say nothing negative to your spouse at all. If the temptations arises, choose not to say anything at all. It’s better to hold your tongue than to say something you’ll regret.
Everyone must be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to anger. (James 1:19)
I will post an update at the end of the day for my challenge!
